Stéphane Rolland, Fall Couture 2013

Stéphane Rolland's Fall 2013 couture collection was beautiful, although his Spring 2013 couture collection was much much more encapturing. His use of color was once again limited to black, navy and the occasional white, three of my favorite colors. Once again he is using long and lean silhouettes, transparent panels, extravagant collars and shows a demure but sexy evening look with minimal skin display. Another strong element was the repeated use of collars in this collection.

This time I saved my favorite to the end. The long black dress with a conservative crisp white collar, so much so that it feels like a Catholic nun's robe, is adorned with a sculpture like black shawl/neckpiece with bits of navy peeking through, creating the illusion of a violent sea at night.
